Mountain bike enthusiasts can venture along the over 1000 km of marked trails on Garda Lake.
 
Mountain biking has become very popular in the last years. The hills, the paths which lead up towards the mountains surrounding the lake (and from which you can see splendid views), have turned Garda into a real paradise for those who love this particular kind of bicycle. The most important places for the experienced mountain-bikers are the mountains surrounding the lake, which host also famous competitions like the "Bike X treme" and the "Bike Marathon", and especially Salò. Thanks to the cableway service from Malcesine to the peaks of Mount Baldo it is also possible to ride mountain-bike at a high altitude with a lot of different opportunities. Towards the southern end of the lake you can go by mountain-bike on the mountains of Pizzocolo and Mount Spino between Maderno and Gardone Riviera. North of Gargnano there are Mount Denervo and the Valvestino valley leading up to Cima Rest, where you can admire the old haylofts recently restored by the Alto Garda Bresciano Natural Park. Lake Garda hills offer mountain-bikers interesting routes in the morainic anphitheatre area, among the provinces of Brescia, Mantova and Verona, and along the Mincio river.
